Development of plastic products

The field of polymer materials opens up a wide range of possible uses. Plastics can now be adapted very precisely to the needs and requirements of customers and the development of plastic products is booming accordingly.

Thanks to my expertise as a plastics appraiser and expert in plastics processing, plastics analysis and plastics development, I can help you expertly in the development of new plastics products and in the selection of the optimal manufacturing processes.

Are you already working on an idea or do you have a vague first draft? Together we find solutions for the realization of even complex plastic products. I accompany you in a motivated and active manner from the first idea to the successful implementation of the project.

Support in the selection of the corresponding manufacturing processes

As soon as the desired product is designed, we work together on the selection of the manufacturing method and the design of the corresponding processes. As a specialist in plastic manufacturing processes, I support you in particular in the following processes:

  • Acrylic glass processing

This process involves milling, gluing and shaping. This type of processing is suitable e.g. for acrylic glass, plexiglass, PET and PE.

It is mainly used for standard and special solutions for plastic pallets, containers, crates and boxes as well as product displays and displays made of acrylic and other plastics.

  • Blow molding technology

Blow molding technology is used to manufacture hollow bodies from thermoplastic materials. An extruded or injection molded preform is formed on the contours of the blowing tool by internal pressure. This technology is used in the manufacture of packaging items such as bottles, canisters or barrels, but also in the manufacture of special technical parts. Incidentally, half cases for suitcases are also produced in this way.

  • Foil processing

Foil processing is mainly used in the area of packaging materials such as plastic bags, foils for wrapping products, etc. These include also laser perforation and tear-open aid, format cuts, printing, punching, etc.

  • Extrusion

During extrusion, the plastic is conveyed through a funnel into a cylinder where it is then melted, homogenized and compressed. Then it is pressed through a nozzle by means of a screw. The entire system is called an extruder. Extruders are used in the manufacture of profiles, tubes, plates, textile fibers (melt spinning), masterbatches (color concentrates) and the like.

  • Pultrusion

This process is also known as the continuous drawing process and is a continuous production process for the production of fiber-reinforced plastic profiles.

  • Milling / Bending techniques

Thermoplastic materials can be bent with the help of elevated temperatures.

Linear heating machines are used for this purpose, which enable contactless heating. Depending on the material thickness to be processed, they are equipped with infrared heating elements or with heating wires.

  • Hand lay-up and injection procedures

Here comes the hand lamination and RTM process (resin transfer molding) with composite materials, such as glass, carbon and aramid fibers, as well as with all available resins as a matrix, to use.

  • Surface finishing

The surface finish is done by design painting, metallization, mirroring, industrial painting and similar methods.

  • Pressing

SMC, PiMC and GMT molded parts are produced by pressing.

  • Prototype construction

As part of product development, I also deal with prototype construction, whereby all common methods are used.

  • Winding

This is used for the production of apparatus and containers up to 250,000 liters made of PE, PP, PVC, PVDF, GFK.

  • Immersion / Dipping

This method is for example used to manufacture latex gloves or other latex products, as well as objects made of soft PVC and bellows.

  • Other processing methods

In addition to the procedures already explained in detail, this includes things like:

    • – Thermoforming, deep drawing
    • – Machining
    • – Rotation
    • – Water jet cutting
    • – Laser cutting

My services

As a plastics expert and consultant with many years of experience, I will help you, expertly and confidently, to develop the desired product, to define the correct manufacturing processes for the product and to determine the corresponding work processes.

I would be happy to explain all the services in detail in a personal conversation. On request, I will of course also make you an appropriate offer. Both the initial interview and the offer are completely non-binding and free of charge for you. I would be delighted to hear from you by phone or email!
