Competent consulting around different plastic products
Plastic products are used in many areas of life and of course also in mechanical engineering, textile industry, construction, etc.
Especially in the industrial and construction sectors, a lot depends on the choice of materials for a specific product. Because an error in the decision for or against a certain material can lead to defective or inferior products and thus cost money.
In this context, the long-term behavior of a plastic is certainly of crucial importance. A product that may work well in the private sector at low loads may not do so for long periods of time under industrial use. Components in particular have to fulfill important safety aspects and offer high resilience.
And finally, advice from a plastics expert can also provide valuable services when it comes to optimizing recipes.

Development of new polymer materials
The topic of polymer and polymer-modified materials has been of particular importance in recent years. Due to their variable and unique properties and the potential for resource conservation, these innovative materials are on everyone’s lips, because the new polymer materials open up technically interesting perspectives e.g. in the fields of adhesives, paint technology and fiber composites. In addition to the traditional, i.e. Materials made from fossil raw materials, those made from renewable raw materials.
The range of skills I offer in the field of polymer materials ranges from development, processing and formulation to material and component characterization. The focus here is on the development of new polymeric materials through the use of blend and composite technologies, with special attention to nanostructured polymer systems and reactive compounding.
Manufacturing process
Different plastics naturally require different manufacturing processes. As an experienced plastics consultant, I can help you choose the right manufacturing process.
Plastic processing is carried out through the production of molded parts, semi-finished products, fibers or foils made of plastics, which are usually supplied by the chemical industry as granules (masterbatch), powders, foils or sheets. In Germany, the different manufacturing processes are classified according to DIN 8580. Primary molding, forming and joining processes are particularly important for plastics processing. I can give you competent advice in all of these areas.

Alternative plastics processing technologies
Of course, with the development of new materials, plastics processing technologies have also developed further. Since I am always up to date in terms of technical expertise, I would also be happy to help you with questions relating to the expansion of alternative plastics processing technologies, such as:
- Rapid prototyping with selective laser sintering
- FDM procedure (Fused Deposition Modeling)
- Integrated continuous shaping processes, such as direct compound / multi-layer extrusion for thin foils, sheets or profiles
Tailoring
As part of my consulting services, I also offer tailoring or processing-oriented modification and targeted preparation for use of bio-based polymer materials.
Many of the bioplastics available on the market can only be used in a small area of application without further modification. By compounding with suitable additives, these plastics are optimized for the respective application. In the course of this, the formulation development as well as the development and optimization of the necessary process engineering represent the core of my consulting work.
Furthermore, topics such as injection molding of bio-based polymer materials, joining (welding and gluing) of bio-based polymer materials and a careful sustainability assessment are included in the scope of services if required.

Measuring and testing methods
Finally, as part of my consulting work, I also deal with the new and further development of measurement and test methods for process monitoring in preparation and processing as well as in the characterization of polymeric materials.
I would be happy to advise you on all essential methods for characterizing plastics in terms of their physical, chemical or mechanical properties. This includes devices and methods for testing the functionality of plastic products, facilities for studying the molecular structure, methods of non-destructive testing and studies on aging behavior. All tests are carried out according to DIN, EN, ISO or ASTM.
My service
Reliable plastic products and manufacturing processes ensure economic and technological competitiveness. So if you purchase plastic parts for your production or if you are a plastics processor yourself and would like advice on quality and suitability for use, I am the right contact. Of course, this also applies if you may want to use plastics for the first time and need professional advice.
I would be happy to hold a non-binding telephone call with you and then offer you advice that is tailored to your company and your project. I support you in the selection and procurement of materials, as well as in the selection of suitable implementation variants.
I look forward to hearing from you – by phone or email!
